Last night your Mommy and I got some great news! We found out that you are both girls! I couldn’t believe it. We didn’t go the traditional route and find out whether you were boys or girls (or both!) sitting in the cold, drably doctor’s office because we didn’t want to get some of the best news of our lives from a man we barely knew. Instead we asked him to seal the news in a yellow envelope so that we could find out your genders in style. So, your Mommy and your Ama put together an awesome party.
There was all kinds of food. Even some Chic-fil-a nuggets. You don’t really know anything about those little pieces of heavenly bliss yet, but I’m sure when the time comes you will love them. Your Ama made us a cake, but we couldn’t eat it. Really we wouldn’t eat it. It wasn’t for eating. It was made of diapers–lots and lots of diapers. This is a good thing because you girls are going to go through diapers like Ellie goes through bones. Who’s Ellie? That’s your dog. She is black and white. She is super soft and very cuddly. Your Mommy really loves her. Someday you will, too.
Anyways! Back to your party. We had two boxes, one for each of you. Inside the boxes were balloons. We didn’t know what color they were, but we knew they would be either pink or blue (duh..). I (Daddy) got to open the first box. As I cut open the box with your Uncle Hunter’s pocket knife, I grew more and more anxious. I knew they were going to be blue. I just knew it. I slowly pulled open the box, barely able to breathe, and then the balloons came flying out. The balloons were pink. I was shocked (as you will see in the video). I could have swore you were both boys, but I was wrong. So wrong.
Your Mommy opened the second box. She was so nervous that she held the box shut even after I cut it open! Deep down, she knew you were both girls. Momma’s instinct (she knows lots of things you think she doesn’t). Well, she was right because when she let it open, out flew more pink balloons! Everybody screamed! We couldn’t believe it. Most of the people at the party thought we would be having one boy and one girl. We were all a little bit shocked that you were both girls because odds were we’d have one boy and one girl. But God wanted us to be doubly blessed and so He gave us both of you!
This is going to be a very interesting journey for the four of us (and Ellie!). We can’t wait to meet you in person! See you in about four months!
