Eden and Olivia,
Happy half! Today you are six months old and we are celebrating you. It may not be an official “birthday”, but we like to celebrate here in the Witt house. We celebrate things like being married for 500 days, your dad completing a tough semester at seminary, or Friday nights.
The weather has been beautiful lately and we have been trying to spend as much time as possible outdoors. We put up a new screen door last night so that we could leave our door open to let the cool air inside. We took you to the park today. You rode in the stroller while we walked the trails. You girls are so content when we go for walks. You love taking in the world around you. It’s pretty sweet watching those wide eyes.
The last six months have really gone quickly. You are changing before our eyes. I tend to say this every month, but this stage has to be my favorite. You are so fun. You are rolling all around the room. You aren’t quite crawling but I know that’s coming soon. I lay out a blanket on the living room floor for you and I’ll look over and you have rolled off the blanket all the way to the corner of the room. I think it’s time to start baby proofing. You love to laugh – sweet, belly laughs. I can’t blame you there. I am pretty hilarious. Your laughs brighten my day. I think they would brighten anyone’s day. They are just that sweet. You started eating solids this week. Avocados. You both like them. But Eden, you love them. You can down your whole bowl in 4 minutes, tops. I am going to whip up a batch of sweet potatoes for you tomorrow. If you don’t like those, you are crazy. Sweet potatoes are delicious – especially with brown sugar and marshmallows. But I don’t think I’m allowed to give you those just yet. You are both on the verge of sitting up unassisted. You can do it for a few seconds but then you topple over onto your faces.
I love you both. Motherhood has been such a huge blessing in my life. I am so glad that I can stay home with you. I love seeing you discover the world.
Heres to another happy and healthy six months!
